Lloyd’s List handed out “2009 Turkish Shipping Awards” to winners. Proteksan-Turquoise yacht builders achieve a good result at the wards.

The third annual “Lloyd’s List Turkish Shipping Awards” ceremony was held on May 20, 2009 at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus.

The award winners were:

Yacht building company — Proteksan-Turquoise

“Yacht Building Company of the Year Award” was given to Mr. Göksen Körezlioğlu, Executive Board Member of Proteksan Turquoise Yachts Inc.

Dry cargo company — Kiran Holding
Tanker company — Selay Shipping
Ship of the year (sponsored by Class NK) — Cafer Dede , owner Turkon Holdings, built by Sedef Shipyard
Shipyard (sponsored by Bureau Veritas) — Besiktas Shipping Group.
Financier — HSH Nordbank
Safety or environmental protection (sponsored by Lloyd’s Register) — Hydrogen Production Offshore Project (Istanbul Technical University)
Port — Akport
Training and education — IMEAK DTO
Maritime service award — Anadolu Sigorta
New generation award — Yavuz Kalkavan
Personality of the year — Lucien Arkas
Lifetime Achievement — Suay Umut
