A new motoyacht, reported to be one of the largest yachts so far, will be introduced in 2010 by Cresent Yachts. Styled by Jonathan Quinn Barnett, this 144′ tri-deck yacht is managed by Jim Hawkins, the manager and engineer at Cresent. He along with Lee Taubeneck is bound to make a huge difference in the yacht industry for the company. Taubeneck was formerly the general manager of Westport Shipyards and was given the designation of a vice – president at the U.S. Marine Division of Brunswick Corp.
This new motoyacht is built to add another feather in the cap of the joint initiative of Cresent and Queenship which functions under the WorldSpan Marine. It was in the year 2005 that the WorldSpan took over the successful and leading Queenship Yachts and Crescent Yachts. The merger gave the professionals the benefit of the state-of-the-art shipyard with an advanced 90,000 square-foot purpose-built facility on the Fraser River in Maple Ridge in British Columbia. Besides this, the company had hired professionals for brand management of both the yacht companies.
The 144′ Tri-deck is set to have blend of both – best designs and exquisite yacht making methods. WorldSpan has always strove to give its clients the best results. The new yacht has a hull form with the designs of Jack Sarin. The propeller tunnels which have been styled by George Rodden are joined with the bulbous bow. A watertight door which functions hydraulically in the transom hinges can be transformed in to a water-level platform for water sports. The also consists of an exclusive bar and an exercise room. There is also a movable sunshade canopy available at the beach club deck if additional shelter is required.
A lounge seating and an entertainment area is also provided to the guests on the main-deck salon. The yacht has adopted a unique Barnett arrangement of huge areas for entertainment to make the interior and the exterior look one. The designer has also built large windows across the vessel and retained specific design elements on the diagonal to make the area less crowded.
Keeping in mind the spacious feature of the yacht, the main deck bar is located aft in the salon. Opening partitions looks very extraordinary not only in the salon but also outside on the covered aft deck. The rush of the guests can be easily diverted from the door set on the diagonal which is in front of this deck. This arrangement has bar seats towards aft, a flat screen sideways offering privacy but at the same time is entirely open.
A private dining room is positioned ahead of this arrangement. This also uses near floor to ceiling windows giving the guests the one-with-the-surroundings experience. The designers have also made a port door which contains a commercial-grade generous galley with a layout works best for in-galley gatherings. The dining area and the center-line stairway which leads to the lower deck foyer are segregated using a cabinet partition.
For the owner’s convenience, there is a full beam master suite consisting of an office outboard which offers to a panoramic view. There is also a huge walk-in wardrobe, his-and-hers bath with different shower and jetted tub. There are two double guest staterooms available on the lower deck too. Each of these has bathrooms, a full-beam VIP suite including a private sitting room that can be transformed into a second VIP suite.
