The opening of the 2010 Dubai International Boat Show is expected to reveal over 400 boats, including world premiers and regional launches today. The esteemed list of superyachts includes the new 73m Silver Zwei; Heesen’s 39m Red Sapphire and the 90.6m converted megayacht, Dubawi. The show which will be the 18th edition of the annual event will be held on 9 – 13 March and will feature three dedicated sections dotted during the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi.

The central part of the show will have an Enhanced Superyacht Pavilion. This will be devoted towards premier superyacht builders with the assurance of special industry revelations for Royalty and VIP attendees. Many of the excellent luxury interior designers, services and products alongside charter and brokerage firms will be positioned at the Luxury Supplies & Services area. An impressive characteristic to this show will be the Superyacht Boulevard which is a novel section maintained to display some of the world’s best superyachts 25m and above.

Organizers, Dubai World Trade Center, have reported that over 400 boats will be showcased along with 27 superyachts, 15 global launches and 25 regional premiers. The event which is drawing a lot of speculation from all the corners of the industry is expected to be a channel towards scaling higher the progress ladder.

Besides the impressive yachts and high profile exhibitor presence, the show will include live entertainment; a dedicated ‘Dive Village’ and the release of the JETLEV-FLYER, a recreational jetpack that lets the user fly up to 10 metres in the air.

According to Trixee Loh, Senior Vice President of the Dubai World Trade Centre, the event is one of the social occasions of the year which gathers all from the industry under one roof. The Dubai International Boat Show like the 2010 Abu Dhabi Yacht show is focusing more on the UAE’s potential, as a strong hub for the superyacht industry.
