This year’s METS will see Lift Emotion BV exhibiting its new lifebuoy shooting unit, LSU01. Lift Emotion BV will be located at stand 10.307. The company believes that safety is the first priority on board a yacht and necessary steps should be taken to ensure its adequate level. Moreover, as the inclination towards the visual aspect of yachts increases, it is becoming increasingly significant to have the right safety measures on board a yacht. Thus proper number of safety equipments stored and hidden away on the yacht is an important aspect for ship designers during the designing process these days.
The new lifebuoy shooting unit LSU01 facilitates a provision for the ship builders to have the option of concealing the lifebuoy within the bulwark of the yacht. The system can be operated both manually and remotely from the bridge, thus making it extremely beneficial at times of emergencies. The shooting device is made with stainless steel composite 316 L with light weight composite hatch and hinges for the holding and shooting the lifebuoy.
In order to make the system work, the release button of the system needs to be pulled, which automatically opens the hatch. As soon as this happens, a series of springs in the system shoots the lifebuoy out of the system. The lifebuoy releases out of the system along with the smoke pot. The whole system works on compressed air and is also provided with an emergency accumulator that supplies air when its level falls. Thus prevents the system from getting deactivated.
