The Metaphor 68 by Alen Yachts, Turkey, is a sporty, classy and powerful superyacht. It was recently seen at the Monaco Yacht Show this year. The yacht combines Italian design elegance, developed by “Victory Design”, with precision engineering and exacting manufacturing standards. The yacht exhibits a level of professionalism and expertise that even further enhances the international reputation already enjoyed by the Alen Yachts, a company that was only founded as recently as 2004.

The yacht has an overall length of 20.5 meters (68ft), with 15.30 meters at the waterline. It has a 6.21 meters beam and 1.1 meter draft. The yacht has a displacement of 36.5 tons with a maximum speed of 45 knots from twin 1550hp Man diesels with Flexi Power Surface Drive. It also has a CE certification of category A from RINA.

With their modern production facilities, Alen Yachts have also taken advantage of all the latest high technology marine composite products in the Scott Bader range which have been specifically developed for high quality fiberglass tooling and boat construction. Even with low styrene content, Scott Bader products meet current emission standards for an improved environment and better working conditions.

Production of the prototype Metaphor 68 hull was done by hand lay-up. However, further production hulls was manufactured by vacuum infusion methods, which was the production process already used for the production of the bulk heads and liners, which were then bonded into place with Crystic Crestomer 1152PA structural adhesive. The PVC foam was bonded with Crestomer 1196PA using a recommended vacuum bagging technique which maximizes the adhesive penetration into the gaps in a cross-cut scrim-backed foam for maximum performance. The deck was bonded to the hull using Crestomer 1181A. This method of production using Crestomer structural adhesives where possible ensures low exo-therms and low shrink with better mechanical properties of the composite.

The first Metaphor 68 was launched in March 2008, with the company already planning the production of six more crafts in the first year itself.

another Italian project transferred to Turkey may be…
this was a project by Sagittarius from Italy, they launched two models the 426 and 480 Dart, both designed by Victory Studio of Italy
I am sure they presented this as a project about five years ago if not more, still interesting someone went to actually do it, the small series of Sagittarius sold quite well during the booming market
I don’t if the yard is still existent or went down though
