The Blue Coast 77’ luxury sailing catamaran is the latest project by the industry renowned design offices of Coste Design & Partners. The 77ft demonstrates exceptional styling with modern and elegant lines, which are seamlessly integrated into the vessel’s voluminous interior. This is a true class A yacht built for fast cruising. Her sporty appeal and ease of sailing offer an idyllic means of living in communion with the sea while enjoying the luxury and comfort of an exceptional vessel.
The Blue Coast 77’ is a three decks sloop rigged catamaran whose design exceeds present super yacht standards. Equipped with all the amenities of a motor yacht with the performance and sensations of a fast sailing vessel, she is capable of exceptional speeds under power as well as high speed long range cruising.
Her stability is such that at anchor there is little rolling and underway heeling has been kept to a minimum even in rough conditions, due to the designs of the catamaran’s long narrow hulls. Their shallow draft enables anchoring and accessible cruising close to shore and in shallow waters. Likewise, her beam has been kept to reasonable proportions in order to reduce structural strain and enable docking in most marinas. Like all the Blue Coast Yachts the 77’ has been designed with high sea clearance to eliminate wave impact.
The Blue Coast 77’ is so much more than a day-cruiser catamaran. With a length of 23m, a beam of 11m, a mast measuring 30m in height and an overall weight of 40 tons, this is an outstanding yacht in every respect and one of the most refined and beautifully appointed sailing vessels in its class.
The concept of the Blue Coast 77’ is the result of highly advanced naval architectural studies that include tank testing and computer simulations. Extensive research has yielded the development of hull lines with remarkable results in terms of performance and sea worthiness. The yacht’s structural calculations were executed by finite element analysis to optimize weight/resistance while maintaining the highest level of integral and cruising safety.
The following powerful design and testing tools enabled Coste Design to conceive of the vessel’s foundations while taking into account the owner’s wishes as to the yacht’s layout:
•3D modelling
•Naval architecture
•Finite element analysis and structure calculation
•Interior design
•Exterior styling
•System engineering
•Deck and sail plans
The Blue Coast 77’s exterior lines are the result of hydro & aerodynamic research, speed performance, comfort, ergonomics, interior layout, safety and the owner’s particular aesthetic wishes.
The exterior aft salon provides shaded lounging with unobstructed panoramic views and is separated from the large interior salon by a sliding door. The aft stairs pertaining to each hull lead to Lazarette compartments and down to the transom where is stored the scuba diving equipment and other water toys. Direct access to the water is done via a swim ladder.
An optional automatic platform for the tender is situated aft between the hulls for quick launching. From the aft deck one accesses the fly bridge via a comfortable stairway to starboard. The two helm stations and rigging equipment are located to port and starboard for ultimate control and ease of handling. The vast sunbathing area is located on each side of the optional Jacuzzi and amidships, there is a dining area with sofa where guests can enjoy dinning with a remarkable view.
All anchoring and running rigging have been incorporated seamlessly into the deck’s layout.
The 77’s interior accommodations and décor are built to the highest standards in comfort and luxury using lightweight materials and state of the art craftsmanship. The yacht is equipped with a high-end entertainment system including flat screen TV, audio and video on demand, high speed internet access, and the like.
Interior accommodations include: owner cabin + ensuite bathroom, 3 guest cabins + bathroom and shower, crew cabin + bathroom and shower, lounge area, dining area, galley, Navigation station.
The entire layout is conceived to make the vessel usable for either commercial or private yacht use. Blue Coast Yachts is the leader in mega yacht catamaran design and continuously sets new standards in sailing performances.
The Blue Coast 77’ has a very simple sail plan with a full battened main sail and a furling self- tacking jib. The 177m2 main sail is equipped with slab-reefing and a 220-m2 Gennaker can be added to provide additional power in light wind conditions.
The Blue Coast 77’ is equipped with an optional 30m, high modulus rotating carbon mast. The Kevlar standing rigging promotes simplicity, light weight, low drag and high efficiency. Mast and boom are studied using 3D technology and finite elements analysis. The styled wing boom has passages on either side for easier ship handling.
