Camper & Nicholsons Marinas to Sponsor World Superyacht Awards 2009

Boat International Media are pleased to announce that Camper & Nicholsons Marinas will sponsor the Best Displacement Motor Yacht of 500GT to 1,299GT Award at the forthcoming World Superyacht Awards, which take place on Saturday 16th May 2009 at London’s historic Guildhall.

Over 530 guests, including leading industry professionals and superyacht owners, will attend this prestigious event to celebrate the talents of the designers, naval architects and builders who delivered the finest luxury yachts of 2008.

Camper and Nicholsons Marinas prides itself in designing, building and operating marinas that meet the demands of the most discerning superyacht owners and captains. It welcomes yachts up to 100m in length to world-class facilities in Malta, Italy, Turkey, Egypt and Grenada, West Indies.

As the owner and operator of some of the most luxurious marinas in the world, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas is proud to be a sponsor of The World Superyacht Awards, a celebration of the talents of naval architects, designers, builders and owners throughout the world.

For more information on the awards, or to find out about berths and facilities at some of the finest marinas in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, please visit the links to the right.

Each marina provides access to some of the world’s most beautiful cruising grounds, offers excellent international access by air, and enjoys its own distinctive and sophisticated shoreside location – from the historic Grand Harbour in Malta, to the newly developed Port Louis Marina in Grenada’s colourful capital, St George’s.

With fully serviced berths of 100m in high demand in the Mediterranean, Grand Harbour Marina, Malta, has seen a steady increase in the number of superyachts both visiting and making it their home port.

It still has a limited number of berths available for sale and rental, and the island’s burgeoning superyacht maintenance facilities make Malta an ideal base.

In the Caribbean, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas’ most recent development, Port Louis, Grenada, has brought the superyachting experience to the southern part of the Windward Islands.

Grenada gives unrivalled access to the outstanding cruising of the Grenadines, and the island guarantees a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors.

Nick Maris, CEO of the AIM-listed company that owns Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, said:

“We understand the particular needs of the superyacht owner and captain and have responded by developing marina facilities that we believe can meet their very high expectations. The World Superyacht Awards shows us the extraordinary standard that has been attained by these magnificent yachts.

Our aspiration is to match that in our marinas. We are proud to be sponsoring an award at this year’s event, and look forward to welcoming nominees and winners to our marinas in the coming season.”
