For decades, Turkey has been a hub for many prominent yacht designers and builders. Some of these yacht designers and yacht builders have a history of remarkable contributions to the yachting industry. Today, time and technology both have changed. Yet the yachts from Turkey personify the bridge between the past and the present, with unparalleled quality and un-compromising charm.

Aegean Yacht, one of the oldest and leading yacht builders of turkey, has been making yachts over the course of last 30 years. Aegean Yacht’s work is what speaks for itself. A consistent producer of high quality seaworthy yachts, Aegean has evolved from their conventional yacht making to contemporary intelligent techno- savvy yachts, with the same flavor and traditional touch. One doesn’t need to search an Aegean in a bunch for the sheer elegance of the yacht would stand out and make it instantly recognizable. Aegean Yacht has now built more than 40 motor yachts and motor sailors, each fully customized to the owner’s requirements. The company recently launched their latest flagship, the 57-meter (173-feet) schooner Montigne, the heir to the famous 50-meter (164-feet) Galileo.

One glance of Montigne would make you realize that its an Aegean’s product. The classical-style Montigne is not only the largest vessel Aegean Yacht has built to date but is also the biggest yacht of her class so far built in Turkey. Built to RINA and MCA, Montigne comes with elegant lines and luxurious interior. Today, Montigne is one of the most prestigious private sailing yachts available for charter in the world.
Montigne was made over a period of 2 years, with thorough planning and sheer dedication from the whole team of Aegean Yachts. However, Sinan Ozer, the owner and CEO of Aegean Yacht wanted the yacht to be made with the best expertise and skills in the world. With this focus, Sinan chose to work with an international team of project managers and supervisors throughout the duration of this project. As expected, the project turned out to be one of the finest with a productive 2 year period during which the Shipyard and Owner’s Team not only exchanged invaluable experience in collaborating to produce an aesthetically beautiful yacht but also learned, evolved and sharpened their skills. The result was an extremely comfortable, functional and seaworthy super sail yacht, the best ever made.

It is only through sheer professionalism, immaculate efficiency and precise attention to details that has enabled Aegean Yacht to make this 57 meter sailing beauty. Though made with utmost class and care, this MCA (Maritime & Coastguard Agency) compliant vessel proudly follows the tradition of Aegean’s other sailing yachts, which are also created in a superb harmony of classic charm and contemporary technologies.

Inside Montigne

Each and every part of the yacht’s interior reflects the utmost care and minute attention it has received while making. Even the exterior areas reiterate the same story of perfection and genuine expertise. Designed and outfitted for maximum comfort, Montigne gives an all different feeling when aboard. The yacht’s stunning aft deck offers 110 m² of space for al fresco dining and lounging, a rare trait which very few of its type offer. Moreover, the elegant sundeck offers uncluttered views and the large Jacuzzi completes the whole package. Unnecessary but important to mention, the yacht follows its builders tradition of a spacious foredeck which holds an array of water toys.

The yacht’s aft deck comprises of grand and spacious dining table that can accommodate a maximum of twelve guests and also includes a turntable. Designed to match the surroundings, the table completely blends together with the rest of the furniture around it. In the same way, all of the furniture has been designed, detailed and produced by the full-service shipyard of Aegean Yacht.

Also, not to miss the Comfortable chairs that surround the table are hand made and properly finished to give an exact Turkish feel. The same floor also features a ‘wet-feet’ service bar flanked by a fully equipped original Teppanyaki grill. Undoubtedly, the aft deck tends to attract people and will definitely be a favorite area for Guests. To increase its charm, the deck’s 40 m² of space is covered with soft cushions with royal covers that flaunts true Turkish majestic.
The aft deck is also covered by a hard Bimini top, which incorporates all of the aft deck lighting, speakers and an innovative water-mist air-cooling system.

Another place that is proposed to be Guest’s favorite hangout place is the spectacular Sundeck, which offers 135 m² of high quality teak decking and can be easily reached by the stairs from the main deck. Moreover, the modern mast, boom and rigging allows for an enormous space for Guests to sunbathe and organize parties.
The salient feature of the yacht is its hull. Montigne can easily be recognized from any distance. A dramatic looking golden Dragon placed on the bow and two brightly colored Dragons on the transom, makes the most peculiar and eye catching design ever given to a yacht’s exterior. The design has not been made just for gaining attention but has a specific meaning to it. The three celestial Dragons symbolize power, which protects the yacht from evil spirits.

The yacht’s three aluminum masts carry a sail area of 800 m². All sails apart from the mizzen are roller furling. Additionally, two lightweight Fisherman sails are supplied with a total area of 250 m².
One more feature of the yacht that creates an impressive impact is the salon on the main deck. The salon features a beautifully illuminated piece of artwork of an oriental scene that continues the story of the Dragons from the bow. Also, right in front of the entrance there is a massive sculpture of the legendary Dragon Boat, a real masterpiece of mythological art completed from a single piece of wood and decorated with fanciful carving. The 80 m² salon also accommodates a large rectangular dining table for twelve Guests, a grand piano, and two separate comfortable sitting areas.

Montigne can accommodate 12 guests in six spaciously planned staterooms; all furnished in cherry and equipped with en-suite bathrooms, exquisitely finished in inlaid marble. The guests’ staterooms are located below deck. A master suite of 60 m² at the aft, and a VIP cabin of practically the same size forward mark the main areas of the yacht. An originally shaped double guest stateroom of 35 m² is located at the forward and two more double and two triple cabins of 20 m² each are on the same level. The full beam master suite has a separate section equipped with special SPA facilities. It also features an elegant sitting area, a study and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a marble shower.
The propulsion system of Montigne is powered by twin 760hp MAN engines, which offers the yacht with a maximum speed of 12 knots with a range of 1800 nautical miles.
