My practice focuses on transactional and litigation matters for pleasure boats, yachts and commercial vessels. I handle the full range of transactional matters, including the purchase, sale, financing, construction, chartering, and registration of domestic and foreign vessels. I also negotiates and drafts a variety of maritime-related contracts, including charter parties, yachtbuilding contracts and crew agreements. By taking a comprehensive approach and addressing the greater implications of each transaction, I provide value added services to yacht owners and operators. For example, I regularly counsel clients on tax consequences, federal import duty, liability exposure and compliance with U.S. laws and international treaties.
When a dispute arises, I represent clients in litigation, mediation and arbitration proceedings involving a range of maritime-related claims, such as breach of contract, brokerage commissions, insurance coverage, and vessel arrests, repossessions and foreclosures.
In addition to maritime litigation, I handle litigation in the explosive and fireworks arena. I am a licensed pyrotechnician, I have long been involved in my family’s business, Fireworks by Grucci.
I am admitted to practice in Florida, District of Columbia, New York, U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida, U.S. District Court Northern District of Florida, U.S. District Court Middle District of Florida, U.S. District Court Eastern District of New York, U.S. District Court Southern District of New York and the U.S. Supreme Court.
