The Feadship Superyacht called PEGASUS is again new and shiny, thanks to the arduous nine and a half month refit period she has been through. Built in 1995 by Feadship De Vries in Aalsmeer as White Rabbit, this is motor yacht PEGASUS’s first refit since then.
A serious refit was decided when the superyacht was bought by a European owner last year (2008). With the help of technical expertise from the Feadship Refit Team, the ship was again sent to the De Vries Yard and a thorough refit was planned.
Sending the motor yacht PEGASUS to her original manufacturer was a big advantage. All the original designs with the positive and negative aspects of the ship were already known. De Vries yard could easily assess the feasibility of extension of decks or improvement in the exterior lounging and entertainment facilities, as desired by the new owner.
All the refit arrangements were made by Feadship De Voogt Yacht services and the following objectives were included:
Reconfiguration of the motor yacht’s transom lines along with the extension of the folding swim platform and an improved lazaretto with extensive stowage facilities with an exterior depicting clubby feeling with teal details.
THer long aft main deck was to be provided with more sitting arrangements with privacy and wind-breaker screens.
Her bridge deck was to be provided with more entertainment facilities along with spacious sitting arrangement and tables integrated with the aft bulwark.
The sun deck was to be made more spacious in order to stow the main tender and create a pool with sun beds.
The yacht’s two jet skis and the crew tender was to be shifted to fore deck and provisions were to be made for handling cranes.
There was no special focus, both the interior and the exterior of motor yacht PEGASUS were seriously refurbished and renovated at the same time,as suggested by the owner. New teak parquetry was applied to main deck, bridge deck and crew and guest areas along with new ceiling and wall panels.
The new loose furniture, lighting and decoration gives the superyacht PEGASUS a lively and modern look, flaunting the owners taste for a blend of various cultures of the world.
