Product: IMTRA introduces Valencia and Majorca LED courtesy lights for megayachts

June 10, 2011 by David Seif

IMTRA, a leading manufacturer of advanced LED solutions, announced today availability of its new Valencia and Majorca LED courtesy lights. The largest courtesy lights available from IMTRA, the Valencia and Majorca are designed to illuminate walkways and steps on large vessels and megayachts. The energy-saving LED fixtures feature an indirect LED light source that eliminates hot spots and glare, are surface-mounted for ultimate installation convenience, and have a smooth, low-profile design with curved surfaces to prevent them from catching on shoes and clothing.

Crafted of certified AISI 316 marine grade stainless steel, the Valencia and Majorca are constructed to withstand the rigors of the marine environment faced by ocean-going vessels. The courtesy lights provide discerning boaters with stylish low-profile design elements to complement any yacht décor and deliver years of impeccable lighting for safe passage in and around yacht passageways and stairways. Incorporating the latest, leading-edge LED technology, the courtesy lights provide enormous power savings and virtually eliminate the bulb changes and maintenance required of traditional fixtures.

The IMTRA Valencia and Majorca LEDs are purpose-built to provide appropriate illumination for yacht interiors, as well as exterior spaces that are exposed to harsh sea elements. The LED courtesy lights feature a watertight O-ring seal to keep internal electronics protected and dry, even under high-pressure washing or severe wave action.

Equipped with an indirect LED light source that is angled down, hidden from direct view and shielded by a frosted lens, the light’s unique design elements allow for soft illumination and anti-glare, even when installed in stair rises that climb to eye level or higher. The Valencia and Majorca’s surface-mount design does not require cutting large, intrusive holes or extensive installation time and tools. Only a 5/16-inch hole for wire pass-thru is needed.

“We are proud to offer two beautifully designed courtesy lights that are perfectly suited for large boats and megayachts,” said Colby Chevalier, lighting sales director, IMTRA. “The Valencia and Majorca smart courtesy lights are the largest we offer, and are ultra-efficient in both performance and installation. They are the perfect complement to our extensive selection of LED solutions and are designed to provide the right illumination and a pleasing color hue, all in a style to match any boat décor.”

Ensuring up to 50,000 hours of long-life performance, the new IMTRA LED fixtures have an integrated, conformal-coated, constant-current LED board, universal 10-30VDC input voltage, transient and ESD protection, high temperature rated capacitors and are 100% compliant with the strict CE-EMC requirements. Both circular lights feature stainless steel trim rings with a straight (Valencia) or curved (Majorca) lens design. Model options include brushed or stainless steel finishes, and warm white, cool white or blue LED lighting. The fixtures are 3.14 inches in diameter by 0.67 inches, weigh 0.50 pounds and consume a scant 1.0-watt of power. IMTRA Valencia and Majorca LEDs are designed to protect against voltage spikes, transients and reverse polarity, and are protected by a 5-year warranty on the LEDs and electronic parts
