intelliMare, a newly formed venture in Malta, dealing with innovative and intelligent marine systems strives to innovate and sculpt the future of the marine industry through intensive applied R&D, which will lead to novel products in the near future.

intelliMare is the first local Maltese marine hi-tech company established in the MBP (Marine Business Port), following earlier established foreign-owned companies in the unique MARSEC-XL cluster of excellence in Malta. With an open innovation model in mind intelliMare will together with MARSEC-XL lead the innovation of marine software systems.

Hidden in a test lab a proof of concept prototype for an innovative intelligent mooring assistance has been born, and based on the initial results, the future of this technology looks very bright. The innovations will also be applied in systems, which will create a better marine ecosystem by reductions in pollution in marine going vessels, as well as all other sectors of the marine industry.

The team is full of energy and innovative ideas, which will be beneficial to every niche of the market, it being a new yacht owner or experienced officer of the watch.

“Our vision is that in the near future most sea bound vessels, which you may embark upon, will be powered by technologies born at intelliMare. Innovation is the fundamental ability to anticipate the future by creating it” – says Zak Borg, CEO intelliMare.

intelliMare is open for investors interested in advancing the hi-tech marine field.

MARSEC-XL Foundation, Marine Software Engineering Cluster of Excellence, is a not-for-profit foundation established in Malta in 2007. MARSEC-XL sets out to shape the digital future of the marine industry through the application of marine systems and software engineering. MARSEC-XL, an “innovation hot-spot” for the marine industry, provides an unbroken sustainable innovation chain encompassing a range of activities from applied research, education and training to business operations and technology transfer. MARSEC-XL serves as a neutral ground where internationally leading brands, start-up companies and academic institutions work collaboratively. The Marine Business Port (MBP) is the unit in MARSEC-XL dedicated to hosting the entities in the cluster of excellence. At present two foundations and five companies have established within MARSEC-XL at the premium waterfront location in Grand Harbour, Malta.
