Although sometimes considered to be the craziest water toy invention yet, the JetLev JF 155 is a recreational jetpack which promises the exhilaration of stable, agile flight with this incredibly easy to use jetpack that makes levitation as easy as ‘up, up and away’!
This amazing new machine was designed by Canadian Raymond Li and built by MS Watersports in Germany. It is unlike any other traditional water toy in the standard superyacht arsenal. The jetpack, known as the JETLEV-FLYER, is powered by a conventional 155hp petrol engine which offers a much longer flying time than compressed-air jetpacks.
The machines motor is sealed within a floating pod that is dragged by the wearer at the end of a long high-pressure hose. Even though JETLEV wearers may be tethered, they can rocket around at 30 knots at an incredible height of 9 metres.
It may take a little time for the industry to get used to the propulsion system, the JETLEV comes fitted with a remote control throttle enabling a land- or yacht-based instructor to help control new learners.
JETLEV-Flyers will be on the market by May 2009 for around 50k Euro and are currently finishing the final product testing, and possibly finding their way to a superyacht near you!
