Futuristic designs and sleek models; glamorous touch and luxurious interiors. It seems that the yacht designers now know the perfect blend for a successful yacht design.

VL-70- the newly released megayacht concept, also follows the same trend. Developed by the award-winning American yacht architect Ward Setzer, principal of Setzer Design Group, in collaboration with Icon Yachts of Holland, VL-70 is a megayacht loaded with all the special features of a world-class Super-Yacht.
You don’t need an introduction when two world class players get together to make a yacht. However, it was a challenge for Icon Yachts to submit a design for its now famously engineered Build-Platform. It was challenging mainly because the yacht architect Ward Setzer was requested to present a work that includes a prominent plumb bow and a highly sleek and stylish superstructure. It was through sheer hard work and dedication that the designer was able to develop a new bow section for the standard Icon hull form.

Coming to the VL-70 design, the megayacht offers six deck levels, which ranges from large, below-waterline holds and systems spaces to the top observation deck forward of the mast. The megayacht also features a beam of 11.3M and a draft of 3.4M .Moreover the design also accommodates large fuel and water storage capacity as well as generous cabins located on multiple levels, for owners and guests.

The classy interiors of the 70 meter yachts are not to be missed. Designed by the famous Adriel interiors of Seattle, the design offers a depth of detail rarely seen on projects of this scale that are created by one firm alone. Later on, one more firm joined Adriel in the process and the collaboration between the two design studios, led to the splendid Vision Line- 70 meter.

The propulsion system of the vessel will consist of conventional drive systems, which will provide the yacht with a cruising speed of 15 knots. The hull design, streamlined and sleek, has been refined to provide world travel capabilities in comfort and style. The yacht also features a twin tender garage, located within the bow and a full beam toy garage/cabana/spa with dockage doors and deploying port at the vessel’s aft. A large swimming pool on the aft deck, flaunts sun pads with a sculpted deck. On a level above, a hot tub overflow creates a waterfall landing in the main pool. A heli-pad facility is integrated into the tail section of the fourth level and a two-level observation lounge and a viewing deck is at the forward and base of the mast structure.

The inside of the yacht consists of a multi-level glass elevator at the center. Moreover, the unique hull side windows and recessed balconies offer dramatic views to the sea. The yacht accommodates six large guest cabins within the lower decks and one master cabin on the main deck.

For recreational activities, the vessel features a theater on the upper deck with a seating arrangement for 16 guests. The yacht can also accommodate 16 crew members within private and shared cabins. The lowest level of the yacht features a typical crew lounge, galley and utility areas. The space also houses walk-in refrigeration units and a commercial laundry.

The Icon Yacht’s ‘Build-Platform’ is capable of handling all the curves and minute designing aspects of a yacht. Thus, the collaboration of two big players has genuinely turned out fruitful to yield powerful results with greater benefits.
