MICS was established in Malta by Ing. Paul L. Cardona the founder and Managing Director, who began the surveying practice in 1980, although involved with marine construction projects, as far back as 1974. Years later due to its immense success MICS was registered as a limited liability Company, which has since been heavily involved in Maritime and Yachting Industries, which includes Engineering, Naval Architecture, Surveying, Consulting and Yacht Coding activities.
MICS limited provides a wide range of professional services to boat and yacht Owners, Managers, Ship-Yards, Designers, Underwriters, Legal Firms, Financial Institutions, and Flag-State Administrations.
MICS Surveyors form an integral part of the Government of Malta Surveying Team which is managed by Transport Malta (unrestricted) in terms of the Merchant Shipping Act Cap.234. MICS Surveyors all carry a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field which has been acquired over many years of working in the industry. MICS Surveyors are considered as world leading experts for coding of yachts to organizations such as the Malta Commercial Yacht Code and the local Commercial Vessel Regulations body. All services offered are covered by full professional indemnity insurance underwritten at Lloyds of London.
MICS technical personnel all hold Warrants in the Profession they practice and all form part or are members to relevant Professional Institutions. Furthermore, MICS holds a number of appointments by Flag State Administrations and Classification Societies, both here on the Island and around the globe. These include Flag State Inspectors for Liberia, The Marshall Islands and Bahamas Administrations.
