Heesen Yachts have launched their latest superyacht – motor yacht BLIND DATE – a 47m displacement yacht. Superyacht BLIND DATE is number five in the Dutch yacht builder’s 47 meter series and she benefits from unique customization which distinguishes the new yacht from her older sisters.

Heesen Yacht’s in-house naval architects and Frank Laupman (Omega Architects) joined force to collaborate in designing the superyacht. The yacht design of BLIND DATE features a streamlined and flowing exterior and a ‘pelican beak bow’. Indeed, this negative sheer bow styling is now established as one of the Heesen Yacht’s trademarks. BLIND DATE’s Modern Deco (American) style inspired interior design/styling is the work of Keech Green.

Superyacht Blind Date is the sister ship to four earlier yachts in the 47 m displacement motor yacht range, namely motor yachts M/Y YALLA (2004), LET IT BE (2006), MON PLAISIR (2007) and ELANDESS (2008).

Built on the same general lines as the other Heesen yachts, BLIND DATE also boasts some refreshing differences. For one, her wheelhouse deck extension contains a gymnasium and a staircase which connects all of her four decks. Also, she incorporates a unique panel integrating fibre optics within a liquid metal underwater scene – all cast in high relief – by artists Based Upon.

Another custom feature worthy of mention is found in the owner’s suite, which is located forward on the main deck. Here the windows are twice their usual size (12.5 sqm), meaning they bring fantastic luminosity and outside vistas into the owner’s main stateroom and the accompanying study. Not to be outdone, the yacht’s crew accommodation has also been the subject of design improvements and a laundry can be accessed directly from the crew mess.

This Heesen superyacht accommodates a total of 10 ten guests in two twins and two doubles cabins, as well as the full beam yacht owner’s suite. Each individual cabin comes with a private ensuite bathroom which is individually finished with different semi precious stones such as Onyx Marina, Botticelli, Smeraldo and Caramel.

The motor yacht finds her top speed, which is over 15 knots, with two MTU 8V 4000 M70 diesel engines. Following sea trials in the North Sea, she is scheduled for delivery in September 2009.
