All the people from the yacht industry are expected to gather at the Superyacht cup Antigua which is going to take place this week in the Caribbean island of Antigua. Preparatory activities have also begun for all the superyachts that will be participating in the competition. Nelson’s Dockyard has already started preparing for the accommodation of fleet and dockside parties.
Mirabella V is the largest sloop with 75m LOA which has so far finalized its entry. The yacht, a design of Ron Holland was introduced out of VT Shipbuilding in 2006 in the UK. In the same year, Mirabella V traveled several thousands of sea-miles post its debut at the Superyacht Cup Antigua in December. The yacht and its guests are expected to join the function but devoid of the competitive attitude to enjoy the feel of the celebration along the rest of the fleet.
Ranger, Rebecca, Visione, P2 and Sojana are few of the other high standard superyachts that will be competing with each other on 27th January. The J class yacht Hanuman is reported to be out of the event. There are many popular sponsors, owners, guests and crew from the yachting industry who would be attending the event not only for the competition but also to enjoy and relax at the Caribbean regatta. They will be welcomed by a cocktail party on Wednesday at the Admiral’s Inn in Nelson’s Dockyard.
Slam, Pantaenius, Wayfarer Marine, Perini Navi, Atollvic Shipyard, Newport Shipyard, and Antigua Rigging are the official sponsors of The Superyacht Cup Antigua 2010. This programme will be held along with the Antigua and Barbuda National Parks Authority and under the burgee of the Antigua Yacht Club.
