The new Dekkit synthetic teak decking system will be seen for the first time at the Southampton Boat Show in a reformulated structure. Now manufactured from partially recycled material, Dekkit availability will also be substantially expanded through all Permateek and independent dedicated Dekkit dealers throughout the UK and Europe.

From the same manufacturer as the premium quality Permateek decking, which is a thermally welded product and therefore not available in for DIY, Dekkit has a texture and profile that eliminates any need for specialist tools and professional hand finishing. Dekkit therefore provides a lower cost option for both trade and DIY customers.

Dekkit has a very convincing appearance, with a robust wood-like surface which stands up to all the knocks and scrapes which can be experienced onboard. It also provides outstanding non slip qualities, even when wet and is extremely stain and UV resistant, being easily cleaned with soap and water to retain its original good looks for many years. Easy to assemble and lay, the finished deck looks and feels like teak but without the discolouration and maintenance needed for the old timber versions.

The Permateek dealer network has fully trained installers who provide the high standards of deck fitting required for the Permateek quality decks and are now on hand to offer advice and training to both trade and DIY Dekkit customers who will range from professional boat builders and dealers through to boats owners wishing to build a one off deck.

Now even more ecologically friendly than in its previous formulation, the Dekkit system has been carefully restructured for manufacture using a mix of virgin synthetic and recycled materials. The finished deck provides a realistic teak decking look, with easy to assemble panels and highly realistic, maintenance free caulking lines.

While Dekkit does not have the hand finish look of Permateek, it provides a highly attractive, tough decking surface which is comparable with other synthetic DIY decking systems available on the market. Designed for ease of assembly it is ideal for sports boats, yachts and RIB’s and will enhance the look and value of the boat at a manageable cost.

The new Dekkit system can be seen for the first time on the Permateek stand EO29 at the Southampton Boat Show.
