Ghost Yachts, the Dutch yacht company and Italian design company Gloss Design have come together for the very first time to make an enchanting design, the Ghost Yachts G180. Both the companies recently released the details of the new project that features the best of Italian styling blended with cutting edge Dutch engineering and build technology.
The futuristic G180 superyacht represents the 21st century modern yachting along with innovative technology. Sophisticated but uncomplicated design, the G180 is equally impressive and elegant in both its exterior and interior form. The exterior design of the yacht features peculiar lighting angles that stress the yacht’s shape, especially its distinctive bow.
The yacht has an overall length of 180′ and a beam of 30′. The design of the yacht has been done by Gloss Design and features a unique combination of clear lines and smooth surfaces without any ruffles. Also, partly a green super yacht, G180 follows advanced technical layout and design to reduce its ecological impact. In order to maintain the goal of emissions reduction Ghost Yachts has taken help from the renowned Dutch Naval Architects Van Oossanen & Associates to develop a fast Displacement Hull Form, which produces less resistance compared to other conventional hull forms and also offers the possibility to reach semi-displacement speeds above 20 knots.
During the construction, valuable input and experiences of industry professionals such as captains, brokers and crew members were taken. Moreover, various layouts were made, tried and tested before starting the actual construction. G180 has been developed as a semi-custom yacht that allows flexibility in the interior layout. The salient feature of the yacht is its vertical bow configuration that not only increases seakeeping capabilities but also offer a larger interior volume in the forward part of the lower and main deck. This large interior volume has been used to accommodate larger crew and also to make a tender storage on the main deck that can hold an 8.5 meter guest tender and a 6 meter crew tender. The arrangement is for the basic layout, which can be rearranged according to the owner’s wish.
The owners’ stateroom, located at the upper deck offers ample natural light with a full view of yacht’s surroundings. The saloon at the aft of the stateroom can either be used as an annex for the owners’ stateroom or can be separated from the stateroom in case extra space is required for social events. The yacht’s lower deck accommodates two VIP suites with extra living areas. Both the suites are also equipped with a separate lounge for the guests to enjoy intimacy.
G180 uses the most modern construction technologies, and thus guarantees a superyacht that meets the highest quality standards, offering excellent design and value for money traits. G180 is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010.
