The UK’s most prestigious awards for training, The National Training Award has been awarded to Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth, Cornwall for the ‘Winner of the Year’ in the Large Employer category. The National Training Awards (NTA) identifies and celebrates organizations and individuals that have achieved really outstanding business and personal success through investment in training. The NTAs are special because the entries for the awards are from all sectors, industries and areas across the UK and thus a particular training program is Judged against the best in the UK.
The glittering award ceremony took place in London and was hosted by Channel Five newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky. The jury was highly impressed by the company’s innovative world-class apprenticeship programme that has helped the company to build a highly skilled workforce for the current competitive market. Some of the other competitors for the award included Nissan, Boots and the Fire Service.
