Here is a photograph of the motor yacht NORTHERN STAR (the newly launched 75 metre (246 feet) superyacht) which was built by Lurssen for a repeat customer in July 2009. The owner had already commissioned a 63.4-meter (208-foot) superyacht, also Nothern Star, back in 2005.
The yacht designer Espen Oeino was responsible for the yacht’ explorer (expedition) type exterior styling. Pauline Nunns Associates worked with the yacht owner’s wife on the country home inspired interior design and decor.
The owner of NORTERN STAR gets ‘proper’ use out of his yachts and visits exotic and remote locatios in the world include ice covered areas. As Diane Byrne cleverly commented: “she’ll probably pass ice floes in her travels, rather than pass out the ice cubes onboard.”
Lürssen anticipates an on-time and on-budget full delivery of M/Y Northern Star by the end of this summer 2009.

And you can see another photo by Carl Groll and more on the yacht Northern Star here: http://www.superyachttimes.com/editorial/2/article/id/3211

Be careful with your spelling, you’ve referred to the yacht by 3 different names… and Merijn is correct, I am not the photographer; Lürssen hired Carl Groll and kindly distributed the photo to the media for use, as I did here http://tinyurl.com/n59cf9.

Eva made one typo mistake in her article referring to motor yacht ‘Northern Star’ as ‘Northern Spirit’, which is in fact a Perini Navi sailing yacht. I have now edited this.
I have also removed the link to Diane M. Byrne’s flikr page as there is no credit to photographer Carl Groll. Hope this clears things up.

One ‘Northern Star’ after another. I hope both ‘Stars’ will help navigators find their ‘lat-long’ better and not ‘confuse’ them. Is another ’star’ in the offing ? Remember, ‘more the merrier’ !
