Sanlorenzo Yachts Spa, an Italian luxury yacht manufacturer, has announced the creation of their first steel motor yacht – the Sanlorenzo 44 superyacht. The 44 meter motor yacht, which is being built at the Viareggio Division, is now near completion The Sanlorenzo superyacht has three decks, a displacement hull in steel and an aluminum superstructure for weight saving up top.

Sanlorenzo is responsible for the yacht’s exterior design and stylistic lines. The use of significant areas of continuous glazed surfaces on the yacht’s superstructure provides distinctive look for the 44m superyacht. A generous supply of windows also provides natural light into the yacht interior – a key aspect of the design concept.

Francesco Paszkowski created the internal design and the owner fashioned the interior decoration and lighting system. The yacht delivers to the contemporary demand in the superyacht market of owners wanting maximum space, comfort and luxury, rather than just speed and performance. Indeed at Sanlorenzo Yachts green issues are playing an increasing role in this choice of yacht which is kinder on the environment.

This luxury yacht’s naval architecture was undertaken by the Sanlorenzo Technical Department. They crafted a large hull with open stern, to provide sufficient interior volume, and offer top performance, whilst maintaining optimal stability and trim, a requirement of the MCA certification standards.

The use of box construction delivers comfort and space inside, with each internal area comprising a self supporting shell, a “floating” box connected to the structure. This is achieved via a series of elastic and anti vibration materials placed in between to dampen and cut off all vibrations and noise. The yacht’s guest cabins are found on the lower deck forward, and have a traditional layout with two VIP cabins (below, left) and two twin bed cabins.

The Sanlorenzo motor yacht’s crew’s quarters are in the bow – a galley with a dinette, four double cabins for eight people along with a private bathroom with shower. The captain’s room is located near the bridge on the upper deck.

The yacht comes with a guest’s saloon on the main and upper deck, owner’s quarters with a master cabin, an office and big walk in closet. The master cabin itself is a full beam room that includes a private bathroom with relaxation zone and whirlpool tub. A dining zone for guests is provided on the upper deck, which is supplied with a round table for 12/14 people surrounded by huge sliding doors in plate glass.

There is also a saloon equipped with a bar counter and, at the opposite end, a comfortable sofa and a low table. The motor yacht’s flybridge provides impressive sea views and has a protecting hard-top, along with an area for the sun bathing with pool and sundeck.

The superyacht also includes other innovative features such as a under lower deck, essentially a further deck situated below the lower deck consisting of a central tunnel running all the way from stern to bow, and housing the technical areas and the service areas. The laundry room has three washing machines and three driers, an ironing board, and a refrigeration zone with a freezer and cold storage rooms.

Externally, the motor yacht design makes the best use of the space available with a series of terraces overlooking the sea.

The luxury motor yacht’s garage can accommodate a large tender and it has two symmetrical stowage facilities providing room for a Jet Ski and rescue boat on the main deck. Recreation activities are also provided in the form of a Beach Club that houses a fitness area complete with gym Jacuzzi a dedicated bathroom. The yacht’s Beach Club itself looks out onto a substantial bathing platform.
