Small wind turbines are increasingly attractive and financially viable thanks to the new UK system of Feed-In Tariffs for the renewable generation.
The workshop will concentrate on relevant policies and planning regulations, set out the economic case for ’small wind’ and examine some of the technologies on offer. Small scale wind power will be of major interest to marine businesses located in windy coastal locations, such as marinas, ports and shipyards.
Workshop Topics will feature:
- wind of the Coast (WICO) project overview
- roll of small scale installations and emerging technologies
- policies, market drivers and technologies
- financial incentives – ‘Feed In Tariffs’ and related issues
- site evaluations and grid integration
- opportunities for marine companies
- questions and discussions
