The second annual Superyacht Design Symposium is now only three weeks away and the programme is hotting up with some last minute additions to an already impressive line-up of guest speakers.
Mr Joe Vittoria, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Avis Inc. and visionary owner of the 75m sloop Mirabella V will contribute his views in a discussion on “Anti-Piracy – Actions and Designs.”
Mr Vittoria, VIP Delegate at the first annual Symposium in 2008 commented: “The Superyacht Design Symposium was a valuable two days and I continue to learn despite my many years of involvement in the yachting industry. I look forward to this year’s event.”
Mr Marc Van Peteghem, pictured right with Lauriot Prévost of Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), will present his argument in favour of the multihull design in our discussion topic “Yachts of the Future – Efficient, Economical & Seaworthy: Which Hull Form is Best?” For over 27 years, VPLP have developed 3 specific sectors of the yachting market: racing multihulls, production catamarans and large, custom, sailing catamarans as well as a variety of power multihulls.
Recently VPLP/Verdier penetrated the monohull circuit with their noteworthy IMOCA 60’ designs including Safran – 3rd in the Vendée Globe 2009. Not forgetting exceptional prototypes like the 51 knot foiler L’Hydroptere, and BMW ORACLE Racing for the America’s Cup. VPLP’s designs are credited with many World Speed Sailing Records (908 miles / 24hrs) and they have a reputation for designing the fastest, largest and most luxurious multihulls afloat. Innovation is the cornerstone to VPLP’s success.
Serious yachting professionals cannot afford to miss out on attending the Superyacht Design Symposium 2009, the most compelling meeting of superyacht owners and heads of industry this year.
There are a limited number of places still available to attend the private dinner for speakers and delegates at exclusive New York Restaurant Rouge
