Soliloquy, the world renowned 58m eco-cruiser built by Alastair Callender and consisting of solar, wind and hybrid marine power won the honorable Condé Nast Traveller Innovation & Design Award for sustainability on the 10th May 2010. Soliloquy is a ‘super-green’ superyacht featuring highly advanced technology from Sydney based Solar Sailor Ltd.
The builder of the eco friendly Soliloquy asserts that the current generation is too close to the nature and Alastair Callender is extremely passionate about yachts and designs. Projects like Soliloquy help them combine passions of both these groups.
Those who won this recognition at Condé Nast Traveller Innovation & Design Awards along with Alastair Callender were Paul Smith, Richard Seymour, iPad by Apple, artists Anish Kapoor, architects Zaha Hadid, Foster & Partners and Sir Richard Branson and the team at Virgin Galactic.
