Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour London
Monday 22 March 2010
In March of 2009 Superyachtevents, under the support of The Yacht Report Group, organised the Designer Business Forum: Cracking the Superyacht Design Code.
The event was put on with the collaboration of Chelsea Harbour Design Centre and proved to be the first event in superyacht design related events. The creation of the Superyacht Design product was brought on by the events need to better inform the market about a range of design issues, as well as bringing together designers, suppliers and industry professionals. The quarterly publications and their website have immediately proved to be very popular, by offering an all-embracing package to everyone involved or showing interest in superyacht related design.
Superyach Design Summit: Delivering Quality vs Meeting Expectations, was the second event in the above mentioned series. It was organized in conjunction with the first Superyacht Design Quarterly in late September 2009. The summit addressed the continuous problem of meeting the demands of the superyacht owners. The forums plan to coincide their meetings with the launch of each Superyacht Design Quarterly, however the focus of both, the forum and the publication, are not always intended to be entirely the same.
Next forum in the series will be entitled ‘Inspired Plagiarism versus Intellectual Property: Understanding the Ownership of Design’. The panel of experts will debate the legal, IP and copyright issues that designers and manufacturers encounter while protecting and defending their work, products, their ideas and not to mention their entire business. The event will take place at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre on the 22nd of March 2010. The summit will be held in partnership with the London Design Week, which is taking place from 21st to 26th of March 2010.
