The Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show applications are flooding in ahead of the deadline.

The 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show is gaining momentum as applications for space flood in ahead of Friday’s (30 April) deadline. With applications in from key exhibitors from across the industry demand for the show is very strong.

Pictured: Sportscar maker, Caterham Cars, and luxury super yacht builder, Sunseeker International, formed a unique alliance at the London International Boat Show 2010 (LIBS) to create the ultimate expression of the millionaire lifestyle.

The launch of the new Phase II extension at the Eastern End of ExCeL has opened up a world of opportunity for the London show and NBS has taken this chance to develop and enhance the event to ensure it provides the best experience for visitors and the best possible sales platform for the industry.

Quotes from just a selection of those exhibitors who have already applied:

Tim Hart of E P Barrus said: “The developments are just what the show and we exhibitors need. Some may have considered not attending in future, but having seen the NBS presentation and what they are going to do with the show, we have applied – anyone would be crazy not to go back in 2011.”

Simon Clare, Princess Yachts International added: “The development plans presented to us by NBS have the wow factor which they acknowledge needs to come back to the show – it has certainly excited us and we look forward to playing an even bigger part in the 2011 show.”

The plans are also exciting current exhibitors to do more at the Show.

Paul Heyes, Key Yachting: “We took three boats to the 2010 show on the boardwalk and were pleased with the outcome. But having now seen the plans and developments we are very excited and have applied for almost double the space. The changes are exactly what the show needs and Key Yachting would like to play a big part in the show’s future.”

NBS is working to encourage exhibitors to take advantage of free space in order to entertain and engage with Show visitors. Jean-Francois Lair of Chantiers Beneteau, said: “We really like the ideas and developments that will be a big part of the 2011 show. The opportunity for exhibitors to take up to 20sqm at no charge in return for delivering a visitor feature on their stand is one that we are planning to get involved with by delivering a great educational and fun experience for visitors.”

As well as cementing the decision to attend for current exhibitors, the plans are also enticing lapsed exhibitors.

Brian May, Managing Director, Berthon Boat Company Ltd: “We are pleased with the developments NBS have put in place for the 2011 show having listened to visitors and exhibitors. This has galvanised Berthon into applying for space at the show, having not exhibited at the London show in 2010 – which was the first London show we missed in some fifty years!”

The Show’s new broad appeal will draw in new audiences, including those seeking to purchase second hand boats. Ian Atkins, Managing Director, Yachtworld.com: “While many consumers attend boat shows to see and possibly purchase new boats, the most common barrier to buying a new boat is to dispense with one’s current boat. Anything we can do to help sell used boats will, in turn, help sell new boats. As for first time buyers, research indicates that less than 3% of them purchase new boats. Providing an efficient, attractive, and cost effective means of showing and selling used boats will help move the whole market forward. Yachtworld has applied for space again for 2011 and we look forward to being involved.”

The 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show takes place 7-16 January 2011 at ExCeL, London and is set to feature the most diverse and entertaining set of exhibitors in its established history.

With over 500 exhibitors displaying product from right across the marine industry it is the place to see and talk to people who can really help you get the most out of your passion.
