The largest conference in the world dedicated to the American superyacht industry will return to Fort Lauderdale after six years. The American Superyacht Forum, in its ninth successful year and previously held at locations including Rhode Island and Seattle, will be held over three days at the Hilton Marina in Fort Lauderdale from 16 to 18 May.
Hosted by The Yacht Report Group, and organised by Superyacht Events, The American Superyacht Forum is a three-day conference involving 300 industry decision makers and influencers including shipyard managers, designers, captains, bankers, brokers and lawyers.
Keynote speeches and workshops are tightly packed into the forum programme each addressing the major issues affecting the American superyacht industry today. Highlights include ‘Writing a Business Plan for America’, the second opening speech which analyses where the industry is heading and sets targets to improve it for the future. A large percentage of superyacht owners are American yet go elsewhere for their superyachts – this problem is addressed by a panel of captains and project managers on day three, looking at how the US can rebuild market perception and at the differences between European and US shipyards. Delegates will also gain invaluable access to information from Superyacht Intelligence, such as statistics, fleet figures and order numbers for the US market. Bullet Workshops include: Marketing & Communication, America’s Cup 2013, Green Issues, the Charter Market and many others.
Concluding the three-day event is a deep sea sport-fishing tournament in which delegates can participate. Delegates will also have numerous opportunities to network and make valuable business contacts throughout the forum.
Chairman of The Yacht Report Group, Martin Redmayne, commented:
‘After years of hosting the American Superyacht Forum at a fine selection of yachting hubs throughout America we have decided to bring the event to the home of American yachting, Fort Lauderdale. This will enable us to scale up the event, with increased attendance, fantastic and original networking opportunities and excellent conference programming. ASF promises to deliver the best meeting place for the most influential gathering of superyacht players, all of whom have the American market at the heart of their business plan’.
