Inspired by the age old prewar boat designs and with a dream to integrate the same designs with modern technology, Alex Suarez, Managing Partner of Classic Yacht Partners, signed a contract with Trumpy®Yachts,LLC On August 5, 2009 for the development of two new yachts.
Johan Trumpy, the grandson of Trumpy yatch’s founder and also the reigning partner in Trumpy®Yachts, LLC, is the one behind this vision. Johan wants to re-launch the companies original brand and business through their unique method of building custom yachts.
Mr. Suarez, the second partner of Trumpy yachts share the same vision as that of Johan. A former bank CEO and current CEO of a multi-family office based in Atlanta, Georgia, Mr Suarez specializes in wealth management business that is sensitive to conflicts and excessive mark-ups. It was this specialty that helped him to observe the client centric sector’s need for a similar partnership structure and the value proposition for his co-owners in the two new Trumpy yachts.
Mr. Suarez also has a strong stand on making yachts that reduces carbon footprint. He feels that the unique design of the two new yachts, and Classic Yacht’s business structure would result not only result in a green yacht but would also facilitate to have the best of the outcomes.
Trumpy®Yacht offers a fixed fee arrangement on all Trumpy yachts over 100 feet (30 meters). Moreover,
Trumpy’s selection of Vicem Yachts, based in Turkey and the US, as its strategic partner, signifies that the company wants to preserve its tradition and philosophy. Both the yachts will be made by Vicem’s cold molding process with assistance from expensive and sophisticated tooling. The end result will deliver beautiful mahogany tenders, classic motor yachts, and timeless sailing yachts.
The two new vessels blends the best of the old designs with the best of the contemporary manufacturing and design technology.Trumpy yachts has always look into the past for inspiration.Trumpy’s 1928 Truant was built for the Newbury family and inspired the new 125-foot (38 meter) motor yacht. The 138-foot (42 meter) sailing yacht was conceived because of Mr. Suarez’s longstanding interest in large sailing yachts. The design of the newest Trumpy sailing vessel was birthed from drawings from old John Trumpy, the founder’s sketches of his personal sailboats with inputs from Johan Trumpy, Jim Ewing and Bill Langan of Langan Design.
