The latest development in the world of yachts has been the establishment of Super Yacht Auction, a latest channel for auctioning superyachts of length greater than 24 meters. Super Yacht Auction has entered its second edition and this time the association will offer the 37m classic M/Y constructed by Picchiotti Perini shipyard. This auction is expected to register bids till 5th April 2011 and has additional vessels planned for April and May auctions.

Super Yacht Auction – professional yacht auctioneers – are a part of Vessel Auction which deals with the organization of online (175 per year) and public auctions of boats, ships and yachts. It unveils each yacht to thousands of registered bidders. Nevertheless the bids remain irrevocable and unconditional. Another pre-condition is that the yachts will be sold in the form as they are at the time of acceptance (“as is where is”). A bailiff firm of notary public formally supervises the online and public auctions. The organization has spread its wings across the globe to reach even the distant superyacht brokers and owners. Super Yacht Auction is Register Auctioneer Ships & Yachts and sponsor of Dutch Association of S+P Ship‐ and Yacht Brokers.

Looking closely at the 37m classic displacement M/Y Liberty S, one can’t realize the series of refits the yacht has been through. Liberty S, powered by twin 535 hp Fiat diesels, was the first yacht built by the famous Picchiott‐Perini shipyard in Viareggio, Italy in 1955. The yacht underwent restoration work in 1974, 1983, 1990, 1995 and 2005.

With a spacious deck, Liberty S has room for multitude guests. There are 7 cabins consisting of 3 double cabins with ensuite shower room, 3 single cabins and 1 double bunked cabin forward with 2 shower rooms. Approximately, it can sleep 11 guests in these rooms. € 1.500.000 had been the asking price. However, the yacht will be sold for an estimated € 500.000 ‐ € 650.000.

Anchored at the Port Saint Louis, France, Liberty S is all set for inspection. The visitors will be allowed to catch a glimpse of the yacht on 27th March (Saturday) from 12:00 to 18:00 hours. All those interested should reach Marina Napoléon, Presqu’île du Mazet, 13230 Port Saint Louis, France. As far as the second auction is concerned – 100 ft Classic Schooner, it received the maximum bid of € 800,000 and is yet in negotiation. The final auction will be that of a 35m classic sailing craft which was constructed and styled by the renowned Camper and Nicholson.
