According to the Lonely Planet the number one hot spot for travellers in 2012 are the US Virgin Islands. Not surprising, as the archipelago of islands offers ever so inviting white-sand beaches with turquoise water. They are the perfect nautical adventure destination for luxury yacht charterers looking for pristine beaches, sparkling waters and national parks distinctive of the Caribbean.

The typical Virgin Islands cruising area extends from St Thomas in the west to Virgin Gorda to the east. The islands are outlined by the Atlantic Ocean on their north side; the calm Caribbean Sea laps on their southern shores. Just outside of the immediate area of the US Virgin Islands, are St Croix, Culebra and Anegada, all of which can be included in the US Virgin Islands yacht charter area, consisting of hundreds of islets and cays.

The US Virgin Islands boast a beautifully diverse culture, they are ethnically rich and artistically vibrant; a perfect combination of ingredients for an exciting yet relaxing luxury yacht charter vacation.

The USVI is a vacation paradise. The local population is very friendly and open, encopassing all from the peaceful Arawak and fierce Carib Indians, to the people of Africa, England, Holland, Denmark, Spain, France, India and the United States.

Weather in the USVI

The temperature ranges from 80’s in winter to 90’s in summer. In the winter, there’s a slight wind shift to the North with wind speeds of 15 – 20 knots. In the summer, the winds shifts to east-southeast and blow around 10 – 15 knots. There is no real rainy season. Showers tend to be in short bursts with blue skies to follow. Yacht charters should be avoided through September and October, as the risk of a hurricane, could easily spoil your yacht charter vacation.

Super Yacht Charter in the US Virgin Islands

As one of the best known yacht charter grounds in the Caribbean the US Virgin Islands offers all the main types of yacht charters such as motor, sailing, bareboat charter, skippered, crewed yachts, catamaran, power boat, sailboat, luxury yachts and off-course the ever increasing super yacht charter.

There are a number of large and elegant superyachts available for luxury yacht charter around the US Virgin Islands, including some exciting US Virgin Islands Charter Specials. One of these vessels is the 60.35m (198′) luxury motor yacht Blue Moon, built and launched by Feadship in 2005.
