Once again the yacht charter industry yacht charter show took place in Newport, Rhode Island this week from June 18 – 21, 2012. As always, this was a show for the yacht charter industry to view charter yachts available for this coming season in New England for yacht charter in both southern New England and Maine. A yacht charter show such as this an excellent opportunity for yacht charter industry members to convene for 4 days in lovely Newport, Rhode Island to visit, attend industry specific seminars, visit vendors supplying products and services for yacht charter and yachting in general, and experience Newport, a hub of yachting in New England. However, the main purpose is for yacht charter brokers to have the opportunity to view the attending yachts, spend time with the crew to become re-familiar with well known charter yachts and crew, and view yachts new to yacht charter and meet any new charter crew. Industry charter shows are an important part of the yacht charter industry for Yacht Charter Brokers to attend in order to have first hand knowledge of the charter yachts and crews available for worldwide yacht charter.
This year at the Newport Charter Yacht Show there were 27 charter yachts with crew that were showing and open to visiting Yacht Charter Brokers. There were both sailing yachts and motor yachts, ranging in size from 43’ to 160’. Missy Johnston and Carolyn Titus from Northrop and Johnson Yacht Charters 9 http://www.njcharters.com ) both attended the Newport Charter Yacht Show this week. Both agreed, that a favorite charter yacht in the show was Capricorn ( http://www.charterbrochure.com/capricorn112/ ), the 112’ Hatteras. Said Carolyn Titus: “Capricorn is the quintessential New England charter yacht with an interior with a true New England flavor, however the crew as always really are key for any crewed yacht for charter, and Capricorn has a great crew and an outstanding Chef.”
