The organisers of the San Diego superyacht show Yachtfest have announced the rescheduling of the ever popular show, in order to revitalize its appeal. The show has been postponed until 2011.

“We intend to take a completely fresh look at how we fit into the superyacht business paradigm and add an injection of new energy,” says Yachtfest president Doug Sharp of Sharp Design. “Although this was a difficult decision to make, we are very excited about our new direction in reaching out to the national and international superyacht communities.”

Yachtfest celebrated it’s 10th anniversary in 2009 and despite the economic conditions proved to be a commercial success attracting around 40 superyachts and achieving the second best paid attendance in its history.

“This is an opportunity to take a fresh new look at the show,” says Diane Fraser, vice president of Fraser Yachts Worldwide and a supporter of the show. “The West Coast is strategically important and now has an incredible megayacht infrastructure in place.”
