Q & A: How To Charter A Yacht

February 24, 2009 by Ross Tailor

I was wondering if anyone had any experieince of chartering a crewed yacht for their holiday. Ive heard that it can be a memorable experience and even reasonably priced compared to a resort but what is the best place to start? Where are the good areas to charter and what should I look for in a yacht?

I guess it depends what type of yachting experience you like. The Mediterranean is known for style and culture and the Caribbean is known for superior beaches and marine life… There are many places you can go now, right around the world.

Definitely try to use an impartial yacht charter broker to find the type of yacht that suits you. Try googleing “yacht charter” or “yacht charter broker” for some of the companies that can help, or go straight to Hope this helps!

I was speaking to a representative of the charter world last week. She was telling me that the most reasonably priced destinations at the moment are Greece and Croatia. Not only do they offer value for money, but the scenario both on and off the boat is amazing!

Hello – Thought Id throw in my slant on chartering as I run an inclusive charter on a 47 ft Private Yacht in the greek islands summer 09. ( although no yoga experince necessary) just a love of the ocean and a wish to be pampered. Our philosophy is to stay away from the noisy quays & give you an experience to remember.
